Top Carpooling and Ridesharing Apps on Android in Ecuador Q3 2021

The third quarter of 2021 saw interesting dynamics in the carpooling and ridesharing app market on Android in Ecuador. Here's a closer look at the performance of the top five apps in this category, based on data from Sensor Tower.

inDrive. Save on city rides experienced fluctuating weekly downloads, starting at around 23K at the end of June and dipping to 17K by the end of July. However, it rebounded strongly, peaking at approximately 25K in the final week of September. Active users showed a general upward trend, increasing from about 389K at the beginning of the quarter to around 428K by the end.

DiDi Rider: Affordable rides saw a steady decline in weekly downloads, starting from 31K at the end of June and falling to about 13K by the end of September. Despite this, the app's weekly active users steadily grew from around 69K to 100K during the same period.

Uber - Request a ride showed a modest but steady increase in weekly downloads, rising from 6.3K in late June to nearly 10K by mid-September, before a slight dip to 7K at the end of the quarter. The app maintained a stable number of active users, hovering around 305K to 317K throughout the quarter.

DiDi Driver: Drive & Earn Cash displayed a declining trend in weekly downloads, starting at about 5.6K in late June and dropping to around 3.8K by the end of September. Nevertheless, active users increased from approximately 14.8K to 19.6K over the quarter.

Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver had a relatively stable performance in weekly downloads, starting at about 1.7K and peaking at around 3.2K in mid-September. Active users remained consistent, staying around the 29K to 31K range throughout the quarter.
